I am a professor at the Politecnico di Milano, Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria, where I teach the courses Videogame Design and Programming, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, and Data Mining. I am interested in applying artificial intelligence and data mining to games, using video games for rehabilitation, and in machine learning methods for data mining.
I am a member of the POLIMI Game Collective a community of faculties, students, and ex-students interested in developing and doing research in video games. The heart of our community is the Videogame Design and Programming course for the Master in Engineering of Computing Systems and the School of Design School. The (almost) complete list of games we developed so far is available on our itch.io page.
I teach Videogame Design and Programming, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, and Data Mining courses. All the course material is available on WeBeep, the online portal for the students and faculty of the Politecnico di Milano.
I have been researching Genetics-Based Machine Learning and Evolutionary Computation for several years. I am currently interested in applying computational intelligence to video games, using games in rehabilitation, virtual reality for learning, and machine learning methods for data mining. A list of my papers is available at DBLP, Google Scholar, ResearchGate and of course in my cv.
